Kids Strength Defence (Ages 6+)

Confidence. Coordination. Calm. 

Our Strength Defence Kids classes are designed to give children the tools they need to feel safe, strong and centred — in school, at home and in everyday life.
Through fun, structured sessions, children learn practical self-defence, core strength, balance and focus in a supportive environment.

Kids learn:

  • Practical, age-appropriate self-defence

  • Confidence and bully-awareness

  • Balance, coordination and core strength

  • Focus, discipline and emotional calm

Taught by John, a Karate Black Belt experienced in helping children thrive.

Class Structure

Warm-Up & Energy Boost

 

A fun and dynamic start to get children moving, smiling and fully engaged. This section builds confidence while safely preparing their bodies for the session ahead.

Self-Defence Foundations

Children learn simple, age-appropriate skills such as safe stance, awareness and basic escapes. Everything is taught in a calm, supportive way that builds confidence without fear.

Strength & Coordination Training

Through playful drills, kids develop balance, core strength and better body control. These activities support physical development and help with sports, school and everyday movement.

Technique of the Week

Each class focuses on one practical self-defence skill so children can see progress clearly. Repetition and structured learning keep sessions enjoyable and confidence-building.

Team Challenge & Games

Fun group challenges help children practise their new skills while developing teamwork and communication. These activities also strengthen focus, resilience and positive behaviour.

 

Mindfulness & Cool Down

Children learn simple breathing and calming techniques to support emotional regulation. This reset helps them finish the session relaxed, focused and proud.

Praise & Positive Finish

Every class ends with encouragement and recognition to boost self-esteem. Children leave feeling successful, motivated and excited for the next session.

John, a Karate Black Belt, created this class to help children build confidence, learn simple self-defence skills, and develop balance, focus and calm. Through fun movement, teamwork and mindful breathing, kids discover how strong, capable and ready they can be in everyday life.
