SHISOCHIN BUNKAI

BUNKAI #1 (CLICK FOR GLOSSARY)

SEMETE: Step forward from zenkutsu dachi, chudan oi tsuki.

UKETE: Step back at an angle in heiko. sanchin dachi, kaisho uke blocking the arm with a flowing pulling movement. Follow immediately with nukite to the solar plexus, striking with the finger tips. Finish with shotei oshi. 

BUNKAI #3 (CLICK FOR GLOSSARY)

SEMETE: Step forward from zenkutsu dachi, chudan oi tsuki.

UKETE: Step back into zenkutsu dachi to the inside of SEMETE with chudan ura hiki uke, palm facing inwards . Step in with zenkutsu dachi . Catch the wrist of the attacking arm and bring the forearm against SEMETE elbow. Use the arm that has caught the wrist to pull SEMETE by transferring weight forward, at the same time pushing with the arm against the elbow.

SEMETE: Step forward from zenkutsu dachi, attack chudan mae geri 

UKETE: As soon as SEMETE begins the attack , deflect the kick with the Gedan kaisho uke with the palm and at the same time strike with shotei to the chin. Osae (push) SEMETE away pushing against the throat or chest

BUNKAI #7 (CLICK FOR GLOSSARY)

SEMETE: Step forward from zenkutsu dachi, attack chudan zuki

UKETE: Step forward blocking with shotei osae uke (pressing block) in zen kutsu dachi and simultaneously deliver hiji ate (elbow) to the solar plexus then chin, sliding forward into hanzen kutsu dachi. Push SEMETE away

SEMETE: Step forward from zenkutsu dachi, attack gedan mae geri

UKETE: Slide forward at an angle into nico ashi dachi and block with gedan kaisho uke and simultaneously strike Jodan kaisho zuki to the face. Push SEMETE away

BUNKAI #2 (CLICK FOR GLOSSARY)

SEMETE: Step forward from zenkutsu dachi, grab both UKETE arms / wrists.

UKETE: Bring arms up together so the outer edges of the hands are touching. 

SEMETE: Resist by pulling arms apart.

UKETE: Step back into zenkutsu dach pulling arms apart in morete gedan tsuki. Finish with mae geri.

BUNKAI #4 (CLICK FOR GLOSSARY)

SEMETE: Step forward from zenkutsu dachi, seize hold of UKETE from behind

UKETE: As SEMETE grasps hold , simultaneously attack face with ushiro zuki and the body with ushiro hiji ate (elbow to the rear) . If required , stamp down hard on the toes. As SEMETE loosens the grip , attack with ushiro hiji ate again. Turn and osae (push) SEMETE away

SEMETE: Step forward from zenkutsu dachi, attack chudan zuki

UKETE: Move to the inside, perform chudan hiji uke in zen kutsu dachi. Attack immediately with gedan mae geri followed by hiji ate (elbow) to the solar plexus. Push SEMETE away.

BUNKAI #8 (CLICK FOR GLOSSARY)

SEMETE: Step forward from zenkutsu dachi, grasping both wrists 

UKETE: When SEMETE grips, concentrate strength in the wrists by gripping the fists tightly. In one movement turn the wrists inward and lift them up sliding in towards SEMETE in zen kutsu dachi. Strike the elbows to the chest. Continue with araken uchi to the face. Push SEMETE away
