The Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts recognises clubs or providers in England who have demonstrated that they have reached and maintained good safeguarding standards.

Ashridge Karate Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This means that we have Safeguarding Policies and procedures in place, risk assessments, qualified officers and DBS checked instructors.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, where there are concerns about a persons's welfare.

If you are concerned about someone's welfare, please record your concern, and any observations or conversations heard, and report to the Designated Safeguarding Lead as soon as possible on the same day.

​

If any Safeguarding information is recorded, confidential records will be kept of allegations/disclosures and the action taken – these records will be kept by each Chief Instructor or Child Protection Officer, who will have undergone a criminal record check themselves.

 

Any records will be stored in a secure place with access limited to designated people, in line with data protection laws.
